Moisture and humidity are necessary for mold growth :
Mold produces tiny spores to reproduce and spread. Mold spores move through the indoor and outdoor air continually. When mold spores land on a damp spot indoors, they may begin growing and digesting whatever they are growing on in order to survive. Mold can grow on wood, paper, carpet, and foods and other materials. When you have an increase in moisture or water accumulates indoors, mold growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains hidden or not corrected in a timely manner. There is no practical way to eliminate all mold and mold spores in the indoor environment. The most effective way to control indoor mold growth is to control moisture and humidity. Make sure that you have a good ventilation system in bathrooms, dryer’s area and other moisture generating areas. Using exhaust fans, air conditioning, and de-humidifiers are some of the ways to help with moisture and humidity.
