Lift tape mold sampling has become one of the easiest and cheapest ways to take mold samples and many mycologists recommend lift tape mold sampling over other methods.

There are several benefits of lift tape mold sampling. First, the direct examination is inexpensive and can be quickly performed. Second, it offers a useful test for the sampling of initial site. Third, it reveals all mold present in a given region. Finally, it indicates all indoor spore reservoirs which are not yet airborne.
Materials required in lift tape mold sampling include plastic bag (to hold the specimens offered in a tape lift kit) and clear, transparent scotch.
